Quality of life in our own home is an added value that anyone would like and should have.

Thanks to Domotics each day it is more and more possible to satisfy different needs and find strategies to improve the home environment in terms of safety and cost reduction for managing structures and implants. Intelligent buildings, with the support of new technologies, allow us to have a coordinated, integrated and computerized management of technological and IT devices and of communication networks. The purpose is to improve flexibility of management, comfort and life/work quality inside a building.

Ikrotec, supported by efficient instruments and excellent devices, deals with the IT management of a building’s whole domotic system. Thanks to new and safe methods, homes will be controlled with suitable user interfaces run by an intelligent control system, based on a computerized central unit (PLC master). The different components of this system are connected between them and with the control system through many types of interconnection (local network, airwaves, dedicated bus, etc.).

To better complete the domotic system, Ikrotec is able to realize a simple management of every control device through a web portal that can be viewed on a computer, a tablet or a Smartphone.

DOMOTIC PROJECT: A VILLA ON LAKE GARDA

Ikrotec has recently realized a domotic project based on the remote management of the heat station in a private home. IT and automation experience, together with state-of-the-art devices, have allowed to manage with a single computerized unit (PLC master) all the thermostatic temperature control systems. In detail:

1 – Home heating with a radiative system (underfloor heating)

In radiative systems, discharge temperature is regulated by controlling the mixing of the water coming from the boiler with a part of cold water coming back from the plant. The most simple systems demand the use of a thermostatic head with a flow probe that allows to maintain the water temperature constant to the value set up (fixed-point control).

In this case, though, we use the so-called “climatic regulation” method, with which an electric regulator (PLC master) controls the action of a servomotor set on the mixing valve: in this way the flow temperature is the same as a value that depends on the external temperature (read by the Outdoor Sensor) and thus on the required thermal load.

2- Heating of the keeper’s apartment with a radiator system provided with a thermoregulation system:

The rooms reserved to the keeper are the only ones not heated through a radiative system. The apartment counts on a radiator system provided with a thermoregulation system; its easy management is given by a device installed (user interface) that allows to set the use of this system with time periods and related temperatures.

3 – Vehicle-accessible entrance path with winter de-icer system

Thanks to the radiative underfloor system and to the mixing management through PLC master, it is possible to heat also the external surfaces. Garage and house entrance paths will thus be easily freed from snow and ice in a matter of a few minutes.

4 – Domestic hot water production

Through PLC it is possible to manage mixing and distribution of domestic hot water. In order for it to be more safe and healthy, we inserted an innovative system to disinfect the hot domestic water preparation system from the Legionella bacteria. Its main purposes are:

> Anti-Legionella function

> Watch function for the ACS circulation

> Watch

> Configuration protected with passwords

> Languages: Italian, English, French, German and customized language

5 – Pool with an heating system dedicated to intermediate seasons and a safety dissipating device for solar heating collectors.

The excess of hot water produced by the solar heating collectors and by the thermal central station is dealt with PLC master and linked to the water already present in the pool. In this way there is less water and energy waste, having also a safety dissipation function for the solar heating collectors.

6 – Air-conditioning

Also the air-conditioning system (cold split) is managed by the central unit that allows its remote switching on and off. With devices such as computers, tablets and Smartphones, it is possible to access the managing portal and switching on or off individually the many air conditioners in the home from wherever we are.
